The disclosure of the Defra cuts plan will embarrass Gordon Brown, who is expected next week to give a major speech on climate change, recommitting Britain to supplying a fifth of its energy requirements from renewables by 2020. The ruthless unity in the culture industry is evidence of what will happen in politics. Marked differentiations such as those of A and B films, or stories in magazines in different price ranges, depend not so much on subject matter as on classifying, organizing and labelling consumers. superfluous to needs will be exhibited as part of the east midlands contemporary art auction at the djanogly gallery, university park, nottingham. hurray.

the exhibition is on from the thursday 15th - saturday 24th november, with the auction running from 1pm on the final day.

oh, and i also recommend lustre, the arts & craft market running next weekend (10th & 11th) at both the djanogly gallery and lakeside gallery. i've been to the event for the last couple of years and there was some really great stuff.
